Mrs Becky Wood (Headteacher) - People, Finance and Premises Committee/Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
I have worked at a school in Peterborough for the last 13 years where I was also a member of the governing body and I am excited to have been appointed as the new Headteacher at Langtoft from September 2021. The school has an excellent reputation which I am keen to build on and develop provision for the pupils and community.
Russ Seaton, LEA Governor (Chair of Governors) - Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee, Lead of Wellbeing and Provision Committee
I have been a member of the Governing Board at Langtoft Primary School since Autumn 2014 and was elected as the Chair in August 2015. I work in Peterborough as a Programme Manager at Perkins Engines and our family have lived in Langtoft since 2012 with our twin daughters attending the school until 2019.
As the Chair of Governors I will ensure that the work of the Governing Body is both efficiently and effectively undertaken and is focused, at all times, in ensuring that all of our children are educated to achieve the best of their ability within a safe, happy and successful educational environment.
I can be contacted by email at ChairofGovernors@langtoft.lincs.sch.uk
Mr Stuart Dolby, Co-opted Governor (Deputy Headteacher) - Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
I have been a Primary class teacher at various schools in Peterborough. I thoroughly enjoy my role as Deputy Headteacher and Year 3 Class Teacher. Outside of school I enjoy a variety of sports including open water swimming.
Mr Will Fisk, Co-opted Governor - Lead of Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
I am a proud parent of three, Toby and Freddie (now at secondary school) and Beatrice. I am a Deputy Headteacher at a school in Peterborough and as well as having a passionate interest in the whole education of young people, I enjoy football and music. I decided to become a governor to increase my engagement with this fantastic school my children attend.
Mrs Nicola Ferdinand, Co-opted Governor (Vice Chair) - Lead of People, Finance and Premises Committee and Health and Safety Governor
I am a parent of three children and am an accounts administrator at a local company and I am also the Scout Leader at 1st Thurlby Scout Group. After many years of being involved with Langtoft Primary School as a parent, a F.O.L.S. member and a staff member, I have taken up a role as co-opted governor. I am really looking forward to fulfilling this role and helping to maintain the already high standards that the school has achieved.
Mrs Karen Gordon, Co-opted Governor - Wellbeing and Provision Committee
I believe that a child's primary school years are crucial in developing a love of learning as well as shaping character, and should be full of happy memories too. I have two children at Langtoft School and am very satisfied with the experience they are having here.
I am a qualified secondary teacher and have experience in both secondary and primary classrooms. As a governor I hope to ensure the high standard of care and education continues and, where appropriate, improves, so that every child leaves at Year 6 having had the best all-round experiences, opportunities and challenges we can offer.
Mrs Emma Graham, Parent Governor - People, Finance and Premises Committee and Safeguarding Governor
I have lived in Langtoft since 2014 and am the proud parent of my two children, Harper and Austin who both attend Langtoft Primary School. I am currently employed as the Head of Finance at New Stamford College and have been a qualified accountant for almost 10 years.
I bring an honest and hard-working approach to work, and with this I am eager to help maintain Langtoft’s current high standards and to provide the necessary support for the both the children and the school
Miss Emily Sowinski, Co-opted Governor - Achievement and Quality of Teaching Committee
I have been a primary school teacher for over eight years and have a varied amount of experience working between EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2. In my current role as Upper Key Stage 2 Phase Leader in a local school, I have been able to develop my understanding of the underpinning elements of school development. In the past, I have also been part of a school governing body as a staff member. I believe that these experiences allow me to apply a realistic expectation of working in education to my role as a governor at Langtoft.
I am thrilled to be part of this Governing Body and look forward to working with the rest of the team in ensuring that the school continues to offer consistently good provision to its pupils.
Miss Hannah Yemc, Co-opted Governor - Wellbeing and Provision Committee and SEND Governor
After living and working in Peterborough for a number of years I now live locally in Deeping St James with my young family. Our daughter, Eva, joined the school in 2014 and our youngest, Ollie, now attends. I work in Bourne as a Secondary English and Media Teacher and look forward to working alongside the team at Langtoft to continue to maintain the high standards of education and wellbeing that the school has such a reputation for.
Mr Morten Andresen, Co-opted Governor - People, Finance and Premises Committee
We moved to Langtoft in 2012, just before our son was born. We now have 2 children who have both grown up in the wonderful community that we have here. Having spent the last 10 years in Recruitment, I have seen first-hand the importance of children having a good solid foundation in their primary education. Everything builds from there. As a result, I am passionate about ensuring we help to support the school in achieving this for everyone that comes to Langtoft Primary.
Mrs Paula Thomson, Parent Governor
I have two children who both attend Langtoft School and have lived in Market Deeping since 2011. I am currently employed as the Head of Category Management and Retail Marketing at a local company and recently gained a MSc in Senior Leadership.
I enjoy the strategic elements of my role as well as working with my team to develop their mental strength, resilience, and internal motivation. I am looking forward to working with the rest of the Governing Body at Langtoft so that I can help build on the solid foundations already set, to ensure every child can thrive.
